The Service Bridge

Outdoor Living —
where kitchen meets garden

The most considered outdoor spaces don't happen by accident. They begin when Siobhan's kitchen thinking and Corinne's garden expertise work from the same brief — at the same time.

We are driven by design — not sales targets. Our only agenda is the right outcome for your home.

Decimus began with a shared philosophy forged in years of working together in property acquisition and renovation. Named after Decimus Burton — the 19th-century architect and landscape designer who, alongside his father James, shaped much of St Leonards-on-Sea — the name reflects our commitment to design that stands the test of time.

Whether you come to us for a kitchen, a garden, or the space where they meet, you will receive an independent service rooted in genuine expertise.

Kitchen

Working with Siobhan was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The prospect of designing a kitchen and boot room in a listed property felt quite overwhelming, with wandering walls and lack of straight edges. From our very first meeting Siobhan fully understood the brief — to preserve the character of the property whilst maximising functionality.

Siobhan worked efficiently to (very) short deadlines and it was incredibly helpful to see rendered designs of the space before finalising any decisions. Siobhan's depth of expertise made the whole process from start to finish something I was able to enjoy rather than dread — thank you!

Garden

We had just purchased a Georgian double-fronted listed building that had stood empty for over 18 months. The property featured a large, established terraced front garden, which had become extremely overgrown during that time. The renovation itself was long and costly, leaving us with a very limited budget for landscaping by the end of the project.

Once the substantial overgrowth was cleared, we discovered that much of the garden consisted of disappointing concrete slabs. However, Corinne immediately saw the potential. She created a thoughtful design that introduced generous new planting areas, blending modern planting schemes beautifully with the existing mature garden. The result is a space that feels balanced, vibrant, and full of interest throughout the seasons, with carefully positioned areas for seating and enjoying the sunsets.

The rear garden, rich in historical character, was treated with great sensitivity. Its integrity was preserved and enhanced through a subtle, ethereal lighting design that highlights its key features. Corinne also created functional spaces for cooking, dining, and relaxing, transforming the garden into the most treasured part of our home.

We are absolutely delighted with the results and couldn't recommend her more highly.
